FARM FINANCIAL
CANADIAN AGRICULTURE INCOME STABILIZATION PROGRAM (CAIS)

THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT LOAN
Environmental Enhancement Loans assist producers in modifying
their current operations or management practices, to become
more environmentally sustainable while maintaining a viable
enterprise. Available from all MASC lending representatives.
FARM CREDIT CANADA
Program is Canada’s largest agricultural term lender,
offering loans and services to the agricultural community.
Offers flexible financial solutions to primary producers
and agribusinesses.
FARM DEBT MEDIATION SERVICE
The farm debt mediation service provides financial counseling
for farmers and mediation between farmers and their creditor.
The service helps farmers to assess their current financial
situation, explore their options and develop a plan for
the future.
MANITOBA AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND RURAL INITIATIVES

MANITOBA AGRICULTURE SERVICE CORPORATION (MASC)
Offers a number of direct lending and loan guarantee programs
to assist Manitoba agricultural producers and rural entrepreneurs
obtain the financing they need to make their operations
successful.
MASC believes in the future of rural Manitoba and is dedicated
to program change and enhancement that addresses financial
needs in the agricultural and rural communities.
MANITOBA FARM MEDIATION BOARD
Established pursuant to The Family Farm Protection Act.
Its purpose is to provide mediation as an alternative to
legal action by creditors in
situations in which farmers are unable to meet their bligations
Purpose is to mediate options to legal action by creditors
when farmers cannot
meet their obligations.
The board can also provide counseling services for farmers
who are encountering
financial difficulties.
Programs include mediation services, loan payment guarantees,
financial ounseling, and acts as a neutral third party
when issues arise between producer and creditors.
NATIONAL FARMERS UNION
Provides financial services to farm families in Manitoba
Services include such things as: income tax preparation,
general accounting information needed to complete applications

GENERAL
ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION INSTITUTE OF MANITOBA
INC.
Non-profit organization that provides the public with the
means of resolving disputes of all kinds through referral
to dispute resolution providers and training in arbitration,
mediation and negotiation
Referrals to dispute resolution providers in all areas of
farm business
CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF FARM ADVISORS
Advisors and farmers meet on a monthly basis in rural and
urban chapters to receive training and opportunities to
network
Advisors deal with such issues as farm transfers, off farm
investments, business management, insurance, and family
law
Ongoing educational programs, materials, seminars, online
services and conferences are offered addressing family farm
business issues.
COMMUNITY FINANCIAL COUNSELLING SERVICES
Provides financial and credit counseling, workshops and
presentations, budget management, negotiated repayment plans,
social assistance information and advocacy.
Provides community income tax service, prepares assessments
for people contemplating bankruptcy, budget planning, creditor
negotiation and a great referral source for other government

CREDIT COUNSELLING SOCIETY
This is a non-profit organization that provides confidential
credit counseling, debt
repayment programs, alternatives to bankruptcy, educational
information and personal budgeting and managing credit wisely.
Credit counselors provide objective information and advice
to assist consumers. Counseling sessions are confidential
and free of charge.
FEED ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
NEIGHBOURS HELPING NEIGHBOURS
Assists people with their energy bills in situations of emergency economic hardship.
OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF BANKRUPTCY
Provides information on bankruptcy procedures.
